Waiting for

The title refers to the Samuel Becket play Waiting For Godot. Of central importance in the play are the repeated elements in the two acts and the waiting for Godot, who never shows up. A play where practically nothing happens and where the hopeless and futile waiting is a key element in the plot.

“Waiting for” can be described as a theatrical play with a number of set instructions constantly repeated, but each time in a different order. The piece consists of a programmed and interactive animation sequence shown online and resembling a computer game, but where the concept has been expanded and the actual game element has been left out. Rather it can be seen as a play that you control with the computer keyboard. There is no beginning and no end and the variables change, making every act different from the last.

The game was shown on the Internet and at galleri 54 in Gothenburg. It was supported by the swedish art grants committee. (konstnärsnämnden).

A Swedish explorer in Finland.

A exhibition for Gallery Huuto, Helsinki 2010.

Below the presstext

”In this exhibition Olle has been working with a project as a Swedish explorer in Finland. The exhibition is humoristic and in forms of texts, objects, films and images that he has been collecting while exploring Finland. The projects has been ongoing, on and off for a couple of years. Residencies in Åbo and Helsinki has made it possible for Olle to study Finland closer. The time has now come to show the result of his explores and adventures to the people of Finland.

Olle is interested in the romantic idea of exploring that under earlier decades was surrounded by myths and adventures. What could such a travel be like in 2010? Can a place be unique and unexplored in a world where different levels of communication makes societies develop in the same direction and brings us closer. What is left to explore? ”

See movie (below), The movie was part of exhibition and was film from my journeys. The exhibition was portable and the idea was to be able to pack everything with me when I was travel in Finland. I also made my own camera for pictures from my adventures.

Museum of dead woods.

The museum is placed in Mustarinda in the woods in the midpoint of Finland. Which is one of Finlands oldest forests. The area getting smaller and people moving away. The museum was built of found woods from the area from former buildings, saunas, doors, things found on the local refuse dump.

The museum is place at a clear-cut forest. I tried to find a picture of the forest before it was cut down. I found a photo of the forest from a person who used to work in the area. Her photo is hanging in the museum at the place where the forest used to be and where she took the photo some years before the trees was cut. The museum was part of a group exhibition called, ground-station.

recreating nature

The material has been taking from a webpage about how you create water with a 3d-software. I have remade the material into a movie.

Rationalization and conservation of flowers, and the management of nature and romance in an age of technology.

A book of scripts for drying flowers in a micro wave. A critical comment to how we treat nature, but also technlogy in general.
